Help your dog lose excess weight and maintain their ideal weight for the long term. VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control Dog Food W2 also helps regulate glucose supply in diabetic dogs of a normal bodyweight . It can also be useful in treating fibre-responsive colitis and constipation.

This clinical dry food diet provides your dog the optimal nutrition they need to thrive as they reach and maintain their ideal weight. It helps reduce your dog’s calorie intake to help them lose weight. It is recommended for adult and senior dogs that need to:

> Lose excess body weight for optimal health.
> Maintain an ideal body weight after loosing excessive bodyweight.
> Regulate glucose supply to help manage diabetes.

It is specially formulated to provide:
• Moderate energy density to support gradual weight loss (0.8% of mean weight per week) and long-term weight stability.

• The ideal high-protein/low-carbohydrate ratio to preserve lean muscle mass and healthy body composition.

• Elevated amounts of high-quality animal protein (34% protein of 88% animal origin).

• A low-carbohydrate, low starch, high-fibre formula and a low glycaemic index that releases energy slowly and steadily avoid glucose spikes after meals.

VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control Dog Food W2 is free from gluten, wheat, maize, colourants or artificial flavours. It comes in three sizes of easy-to-use resealable bags: 3 kg, 7 kg and 12 kg. Follow the feeding guidelines on the packaging to give your dog the perfect daily ration based on their current body weight. Not suitable for puppies, pregnant or nursing dogs, or dogs with chronic kidney disease.

Dogs are carnivores by nature and need to eat high-quality animal protein for optimal health. VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control Dog Food W2 is formulated to meet these needs with 34% protein (88% animal origin) and only 25.5% carbohydrates. The high-protein, low-carbohydrate balance is ideal for preserving lean muscle mass, maintaining a healthy weight, and supporting your dog's digestion.

To help your dog get used to their new diet it's best to introduce any new food gradually. Try giving your dog a combination of their current food and VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control Dog Food W2 while slowly increasing the proportion of the new food as follows:

• Days 1 & 2: 75% current food and 25% VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control
• Days 3 & 4: 50% current food and 50% VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control
• Days 5 & 6: 25% current food and 75% VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control
• Day 7 onwards: 100% VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control

Always check with your vet before switching your dog to a new specialist food.

Please refer to the feeding rations on the packaging of VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control Dog Food W2 for recommended portion sizes. Keep in mind that you should feed your dog based on their current weight, so weigh them regularly and adjust their rations accordingly. Do this once a week while your dog is losing weight and once a month when they’re maintaining their weight.

If your dog has a significant amount of weight to lose (more than 30% of their current weight), they may benefit from starting on VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Diabetes W1 dog food instead. This food has a lower energy density to encourage greater weight loss. Once your dog has reached their ideal weight, you can help them to maintain it by switching to VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control W2.

VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Control W2 is ideal both for helping your dog to lose weight, and for helping them to maintain a stable weight in the long term. It can also help to regulate glucose supply in dogs with diabetes for dogs that are already at an ideal weight or underweight.

VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Diabetes W1 is formulated for overweight and obese dogs, with or without diabetes, to help them reach an ideal weight through rapid weight loss. In the case of diabetes, it can also help to regulate glucose supply.

Always consult your vet when switching between these two foods as portions may need to be adjusted to avoid weight gain.
