Product Details

Dogs can develop bladder stones for a variety of reasons such as a dietary imbalance, urinary tract or bladder infections or an underlying disorder such as Cushing’s disease. The most common types in dogs are struvite stones and calcium oxalate stones. These hard deposits in their urinary system can cause considerable discomfort and pain.

VETERINARY HPM® Urology Dog Food U1 is a complete dry dog food that dissolves and limits the formation of struvite stones, and helps to prevents new calcium oxalate stones forming.

In addition to providing all the daily nutrition your dog requires, this special dietary formula:

> Contains a high-quality protein content (34%) to increase water intake, thereby increasing urine volume and frequency.

> Is analysed for a low struvite RSS (relative supersaturation) of <1 to dissolve and limit the formation of bladder stones. This is a measure of the risk of urinary crystals and stones forming, with a percentage less than 1% it helps dissolve any current struvite stones.

> To help to reduce the formation of stones, the formulation helps to acidify the urine.

> Contains high level of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA + DHA) to help limit inflammation. It has an additional benefit of supporting good skin and coat health too!

> Limited calcium and phosphorus content to lower the risk of future struvite and oxalate stones

VETERINARY HPM® Urology Dog Food U1 comes in a convenient resealable bag weighing 3 kg and 12 kg. Follow the feeding guidelines on the package for your dog’s body weight to provide the ideal daily ration.

This food is not suitable for dogs with chronic kidney disease and cardiac insufficiency. Do not use during growth stages (puppies and junior dogs) or while pregnant or lactating.

Benefits

The high protein content (34%), will likely increase your dogs water intake. This helps to increase urine volume and frequency which balances the pH of urine and dilutes the urine which is essential for limiting the formation of urinary stones.

High protein and sodium content encourages water intake to increase urination [1].

Induces urine undersaturation for struvite stones with RSS** <1 to promote the dissolution of existing struvite stones/crystals and prevent recurrence [1].

Urinary pH between 6.0-6.5 helps dissolve struvite stones without increasing the risk of oxalate formation.

Fish oil supplements achieve high amounts of omega-3, specifically EPA+DHA, and helps limit lower urinary tract inflammation.

Low calcium and phosphorus content limits urinary excretion and the risk of future struvite and oxalate formation.
