Continuous Diffusion
The collar creates an invisible layer of uninterrupted protection on the skin of your pet, due to the slow release of the molecules from the collars polymer matrix technology.

Controlled expansion mechanism widens the collar if your pet gets trapped. The ‘V’ breakaway point on the collar for cats & small dogs, also helps to prevent choking and therefore acts as a double safety mechanism.

FAQ

Prevexto™ provides up to 8 months of continuous protection against a range of common parasites. It effectively kills fleas, flea larvae, and biting lice. Importantly, it repels and kills ticks on contact, meaning no biting is required for the treatment to work. For dogs, this fast-acting protection actively reduces the transmission risk of dangerous vector-borne diseases such as canine Babesiosis and Ehrlichiosis.

Prevexto™ provides up to 8 months of continuous protection against a range of common parasites. It effectively kills fleas, flea larvae, and biting lice. There’s no need for regular monthly treatments – a single collar is all you need for long-lasting protection and peace of mind.

The collar utilises a continuous diffusion technology that slowly releases its trusted active ingredients—flumethrin and imidacloprid—from a polymer matrix. These ingredients spread naturally through the lipid layer of your pet’s skin and coat to provide homogenous, head-to-tail coverage completely without systemic absorption. This means the ingredients stay on the surface of the skin and do not enter your pet's bloodstream.

Yes. Prevexto™ can be used in puppies from 7 weeks of age and kittens from 10 weeks of age.

To ensure complete peace of mind, every collar is equipped with a built-in dual safety mechanism to prevent trapping or choking. This features a controlled expansion mechanism that widens the collar if a pet gets trapped, as well as a "V" breakaway point on cat and small dog collars. The cat collars specifically feature an advanced double security system.

Prevexto™ is water-resistant, meaning it remains fully effective if your pet gets wet in the rain or jumps in a puddle. However, to ensure the collar lasts for its maximum duration of up to 8 months and to avoid contamination to environmental waterways, it is recommended that you easily slip the collar off before bathing or swimming, and replace it once your pet is dry.

Prevexto™ protects dogs against fleas, ticks and lice. Prevexto™ kills fleas on contact and kills and repels ticks. In addition, ticks and fleas can transmit harmful agents to your pet and your family and Prevexto™ reduces the risk of transmission of Ehlichiosis and Babesiosis.

Once the Prevexto™ collar is on your dog or cat it takes one to two days to reach full effectiveness.

The active ingredients of the collar are distributed to the whole body surface through the lipid layer of the skin. Neither the breed or the type of coat will affect the efficacy of the product.

The collar is soft, light, flexible and designed to adjust to all dog and cat breeds, designed for everyday wear.
It's also non-greasy so it won't leave any residue on your pet’s fur.

Yes, Prevexto™ comes in three sizes:

  • One for cats & kittens over 10 weeks of age
  • One for dogs & puppies over 7 weeks of age and less than 8 Kg
  • One for dogs & puppies over 7 weeks of age and over 8 Kg

Prevexto™ remains effective if the pet becomes wet. However, pet owners are advised to remove the collar before bathing or swimming to avoid contamination to environmental waterways.

Short temporary removal should not have any effect on the product efficacy as long as the collar is kept in ambient temperature conditions. It is advsed to remove before bathing or swimming.

Yes, the attachment mechanism makes it easy to remove and put back on your pet as required. However, for optimal protection, it is recommended to leave it on at all times unless you are removing for bathing or swimming.

The collar has a subtle odour that should not affect you or your pet.

The shelf life of the collar when it is still in the sachet is 2 years. Keep the sachet in the outer carton until use. The carton should be kept at ambient temperature. Always check the pack for more information.

  1. Remove the collar from the protective sachet bag just before use.
  2. Unroll the collar and make sure that there are no remnants from the plastic connectors inside the collar.
  3. Adjust the collar around the animal's neck making sure that it is not very loose nor very tight. As a guide, it should be possible to insert 2 fingers between the collar and the neck.
  4. Pull the excess collar through the loop and cut off any excess length extending beyond 2 cm.
  5. The collar of cats and small dogs is designed with a V breakaway point. In the very rare event of a cat being trapped, the animal’s own strength is usually sufficient to widen the collar to allow for quick release.

The collar should be worn continuously for the 8 month protection period and should be removed after the treatment period. Check periodically and adjust fit if necessary, especially when puppies or kittens are rapidly growing.

Prevexto™ collars are equipped with a Dual Safety Mechanism:

  • First: a controlled expansion mechanism widens the collar if your pet gets trapped.
  • Second: a «V» breakaway point* allows pets to completely break the collar in case of emergency.

*Available on the cat and small dog collar

Prevexto™ is well tolerated by dogs and cats when used according to the label instructions. However, like all medications, potential side effects can occur. In the suspicion of a side effect consult your vet.

Prevexto™ collar is designed, clinically tested and labeled specifically for use in either dogs or cats. Direct, prolonged contact with the collar by other pets should be avoided. If in doubt we recommend you contacting your vet.

No. The dimensions of the Prevexto™ collar are adapted to the body surface of dogs in order to “deliver” the right amount of active ingredients over time. Therefore you should not use a large dog collar for a small dog weighing less than 8kg. This also applies to species specific, do not use a dog collar on a cat and vice versa.

Do not treat puppies less than 7 weeks of age and kittens less than 10 weeks of age.

Do not use in cases of hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients.

If you are concerened, always seek advice from your vet in the first instance.
