Product Details

Now that your large breed puppy is around 8-18 months old, they have reached the adolescent stage when their body is almost fully developed and the rapid growth stage has peaked. In this “teenager” lifestage, your young adult dog also has changing nutritional needs, requiring a slightly different diet that’s formulated to maintain healthy weight gain over time and protect joints. It’s time to gradually switch from puppy food to a recipe that provides junior large dogswith dense calories, low carbs and high protein. VETERINARY HPM® Junior Large Dog* dry dog food is formulated for dogs who will grow up to be over 25kg.

Healthy growth

VETERINARY HPM® Junior Large Dog is an energy-dense dry dog food with a high 35% protein content (87% from animal sources) and low carbohydrates (28%) providing lots of energy for playing and running.

Controls growth and weight gain
The low 28% carbohydrate content, along with low fat and high fibre, result in a moderate energy density. When your young dog aged 8-18 months old is fed the recommended rations, VETERINARY HPM® Junior Large Dog dry dog food provides the ideal energy density levels for this end-of-growth period through to adulthood.

Builds muscle mass
With a high protein content of 35% (87% from animal sources), your adolescent large breed dog will develop healthy muscle mass to keep them physically active.

Supports joint health
A strong musculoskeletal system is essential for both everyday mobility and high-energy physical activities. VETERINARY HPM® Junior Large Dog gives your young dog the high-quality protein they need to maintain healthy joints.

Healthy digestive system
To help your dog's digestive tract function properly, this formula provides prebiotics and probiotics that are scientifically proven to support beneficial digestive flora and a healthy microbiome. Psyllium fibre maintains regular digestion and stools, while bentonite ensures normal stool odour and consistency. 77% of junior large breed dogs developed improved digestive tolerance [1] after one month.

VETERINARY HPM® Junior Large Dog also contains supplements like omega-3 fish oil to support the skin and coat and does not contain any artificial colours or flavours.

Your young adult dog will love VETERINARY HPM® Junior Special Diet for Large Breeds dry dog food because it’s delicious, but resist the urge to feed them every time they ask for more. This is a carefully formulated diet, so we strongly recommend following the standard daily ration for their weight and age. You will find our complete feeding guidelines on the bag, but your vet or vet nurse can provide you with a feeding plan that is customised for your pet.

The recommended minimum daily amount a dog should drink is 50-70 ml of water per kilogram of bodyweight. VETERINARY HPM® dry dog food is specially formulated with a higher protein content, which will encourage your dog to naturally consume more water. This helps to support their urinary health by increasing urine volume and stabilising urinary pH. Consult your vet or vet nurse if you want advice on your dog's water intake.
