FAQ

Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint condition that causes the tissue of the joints to break down over time. The places where two bones meet are usually protected by cartilage. As the cartilage is destroyed, the cushioning effect on the bones is not repaired resulting in inflammation in the joint capsule, restricted movemement and pain. Over time new bone is laid down in attempt to heal the damage but this results in remodelling of the joint surfaces resulting in the lose of ability to absorb concussional forces and the weakening of supportive structures such as ligaments and tendons.
