Product Details

Help support your dog from skin and coat problems with VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology. Suitable for dog skin disorders such as dermatosis, excessive hair loss, inflammatory skin conditions, dermatitis, atopic dermatitis and pruritus (itchy skin).

Dermatological conditions can damage the natural skin barrier and lead to irritation, itching, poor coat condition and excessive hair loss in dogs. VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is a complete and balanced dog food specially formulated to help manage common conditions, control inflammation and restore your dog’s skin and coat health.

Dermatology Support provides high amounts of high quality animal proteins rich in sulphur amino acids, which form the building blocks of healthy skin and hair. It also features our signature DERMA Plus complex with essential nutrients to promote recovery and protection from skin and coat conditions:

• Omega 3 fatty acids (including EPA and DHA).
• Omega 6 fatty acids (including linoleic acid).

VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is suitable for dogs of all ages and breeds, but should not be given to dogs with chronic kidney disease. In pets with suspected dog food allergies or intolerances, we recommend trying the VETERINARY HPM® Allergy range first.

FAQ

Dermatosis refers to any disease of the skin, but is usually used to describe a skin disease that is non-inflammatory. Dermatitis, on the other hand, refers specifically to inflammation of the skin. It can refer to a short-lived symptom of irritation, trauma, or sensitivity to something in the environment, or a chronic condition such as atopic (allergic) dermatitis.

VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is suitable for dogs with dermatosis (non-inflammatory skin conditions), excessive hair loss (that is not caused by dog food allergies), inflammatory skin conditions, dermatitis, atopic dermatitis and pruritus (itchy skin). If your veterinarian confirms that your dog’s hair loss is caused by food allergies or intolerances, we recommend trying the VETERINARY HPM® Allergy range first. VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is suitable for dogs of all ages and breeds. However, it should not be given to dogs with chronic kidney disease. Always consult your vet before giving your dog a new therapeutic food.

VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support helps to improve skin and coat condition by reducing inflammation and irritation, promoting skin healing and renewal, and repairing the skin’s natural protective barrier. It also contains ingredients that improve the health of the hair follicles to reduce shedding and give a fuller, shinier coat.

If you suspect your dog has food allergies, it's important to consult your veterinarian. They may want to try an elimination diet to determine whether your dog's symptoms are caused by allergies (and which ones) or another underlying health problem. The VETERINARY HPM® Allergy range can be used during an elimination diet and long-term if allergies are confirmed. If allergies are not determined to be the cause of your dog's skin problems or hair loss, we recommend trying VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support instead.

It's best to introduce any new dog food gradually to help your dog get used to their new diet. Try giving your dog a combination of their current food and VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support, slowly increasing the proportion of the new food as follows:

• Days 1 & 2: 75% current food and 25% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.
• Days 3 & 4: 50% current food and 50% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.
• Days 5 & 6: 25% current food and 75% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.
• Day 7 onwards: 100% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.

Please refer to the feeding rations on the packaging of VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support dog food for recommended portion sizes. Keep in mind that you should feed your dog based on their current weight, so you should weigh them every month and adjust their portion sizes if necessary.

Dogs are naturally carnivores and need to eat an abundance of high-quality animal proteins for optimal health. VETERINARY HPM® Weight Loss & Diabetes W1 is formulated to meet these needs with 34% protein (94% animal origin) and 23% carbohydrates. The high-protein/low-carbohydrate balance is ideal for preserving lean muscle mass, achieving a healthy weight, and supporting your dog's digestion.
