Product Details

Help support your cat from skin and coat disorders with VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support Food for Cats. Suitable for cats with dermatosis, excessive hair loss, dermatitis and itching.

Dermatological conditions can damage the natural skin barrier and lead to irritation, itching, redness, poor coat condition and excessive hair loss in cats. VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is a complete and balanced food made with an expert blend of ingredients to help manage common dermatologic conditions, modulate inflammation and restore your cat’s skin and coat health.

Dermatology Support provides high amounts of high quality animal proteins rich in sulphur amino acids, which form the building blocks of healthy skin and hair. It also features our signature DERMA Plus complex with essential nutrients to promote recovery and protection from dermatological conditions:

• Omega 3 fatty acids (including EPA and DHA).
• Omega 6 fatty acids (including linoleic acid).
• Antioxidant vitamins A and E.

VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is suitable for cats of all ages but not for cats suffering with chronic liver or kidney disease. In pets with suspected cat food allergies or intolerances, we recommend trying the VETERINARY HPM® Allergy range first.

FAQ

VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is suitable for cats with dermatosis (non-inflammatory skin conditions), excessive hair loss (that is not caused by cat food allergies), dermatitis or itching. If your vet confirms that your cat’s hair loss is caused by food allergies or intolerances, we recommend trying the VETERINARY HPM® Allergy range first. VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is suitable for cats of all ages and breeds. Always consult your vet before giving your cat a new diet.

Cats are naturally carnivores and need to eat an abundance of high-quality animal proteins for optimal health. VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support is formulated to meet these needs with 44% protein (91% animal origin) and 19.5% carbohydrates. The high-protein/low-carbohydrate balance is ideal for preserving lean muscle mass, maintaining a healthy weight, and supporting your cat's digestion.

VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support helps to improve skin and coat condition by reducing inflammation and irritation, promoting skin healing and renewal, and repairing the skin’s natural protective barrier. It also contains ingredients that improve the health of the hair follicles to reduce shedding and give a fuller, shinier coat.

Dermatosis refers to any disease of the skin, but is usually used to describe a skin disease that is non-inflammatory. Dermatitis, on the other hand, refers specifically to inflammation of the skin. It can refer to a short-lived symptom of irritation, trauma, or sensitivity to something in the environment, or a chronic condition such as atopic (allergic) dermatitis.

If you suspect your cat has food allergies, it's important to consult your veterinarian. They may want to try an elimination diet to determine whether your cat’s symptoms are caused by allergies (and which ones) or another underlying health problem. The VETERINARY HPM® Allergy range can be used during an elimination diet and long-term if allergies are confirmed. If allergies are not determined to be the cause of your cat's skin problems or hair loss, we recommend trying VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support instead.

It's best to introduce any new cat food gradually to help your cat get used to their new diet. Try giving your cat a combination of their current food and VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support, slowly increasing the proportion of the new food as follows:

• Days 1 & 2: 75% current food and 25% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.
• Days 3 & 4: 50% current food and 50% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.
• Days 5 & 6: 25% current food and 75% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.
• Day 7 onwards: 100% VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support.

Please refer to the feeding rations on the packaging of VETERINARY HPM® Dermatology Support cat food for recommended portion sizes. Keep in mind that you should feed your cat based on their current weight, so you should weigh them every month and adjust their portion sizes if necessary.
