Modern Slavery Act Statement

For the financial year ending 31st December 2022

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Organisation

Virbac Limited (“Virbac”) is a company which supplies veterinary pharmaceutical products in the United Kingdom. Virbac’s business is focussed on the animal health market. Virbac has been forging personalised relationships with veterinarians, farmers and pet owners in the UK. Virbac’s parent company is Virbac S.A. Virbac S.A. has affiliates around the world. Virbac Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Virbac S.A (Virbac, Virbac S. A. and other companies within the Virbac group of companies are referred to in this statement as “Virbac Group”).

Supply Chain

Virbac purchases the majority of the products it sells from other group companies which are in the Virbac Group which are based in Europe. Virbac currently assesses that there is a low risk of modern slavery and trafficked labour in its supply chains. The Virbac Group has an ethical labour policy in place and this is published in the Virbac S.A’s annual report.

Child labour

No workers below the legal minimum age for work are employed by the Virbac Group. With respect to the key suppliers to the Virbac Group, the Virbac Group's ethical assessment policy requires suppliers to comply with child labour legislation in force in the jurisdiction in which they are based. In 2022, none of the suppliers questioned reported to the Virbac Group any failure to comply with this requirement. Should the Virbac Group identify a non compliant supplier, the supplier would be required by the Group to take steps to comply with the Virbac Group’s ethical labour policy. If it failed to do that, its relationship with the Virbac Group would be terminated.

Forced or mandatory labour

The Virbac Group does not engage in forced labour practices. With respect to its key suppliers, compliance with the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, including the prohibition of forced labour, is a requirement which is included in all new supply contracts. In 2022, none of the suppliers questioned reported to the Virbac Group any failure to comply with this requirement. Should Virbac identify a non-compliant supplier, the supplier would be required to take steps to comply with the Virbac Group’s ethical labour policy. If it failed to do so, its relationship with the Virbac Group would be terminated.

Assessment of the respect for human rights among suppliers

For every invitation to tender issued by the Virbac Group to its main suppliers (which together account for nearly 90% of the value of purchases of raw materials and subcontracting), the Virbac Group requires completion of a questionnaire which is aimed at assessing the suppliers compliance with human rights legislation. The questionnaire seeks to assess, amongst other things, the age of employees, the existence of appropriate health and safety policies and the absence of discrimination. Since 2015, new framework contracts issued by Virbac Group have included an obligation requiring suppliers to comply standards relating to human rights. In 2022, the assessment process carried out by the Virbac Group with its new suppliers did not identify, in the context of responses to the questionnaires, any relevant risks. Should Virbac identify a non-compliant supplier, the supplier would be required to take steps to comply with the Virbac Group’s human rights standards. If it failed to do so, its relationship with the Virbac Group would be terminated.

Commitment

During the forthcoming 12 month period, Virbac Limited will review due diligence of third party suppliers to ensure adherence to the group ethical labour policy. Virbac Limited also intends to ensure that its contracts with third party suppliers include appropriate contractual provisions to ensure its third party suppliers comply with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015

Internal Policies

All employees have been issued the Virbac Code of Conduct that incorporates policies relating to:

Business conduct
Data privacy
