Dogs should primarily derive their energy from protein and fat, and their nutrients from animal sources. Starch should be provided in limited quantities, as an excess of carbohydrates might promote fat storage, especially in neutered dogs.

With sterilization, energy requirements decrease by 30%, while appetite increases by 60%. It is therefore imperative to feed your neutered/spayed dog with a different food, specially formulated to help them maintain or regain their ideal weight.

Animal proteins have a higher nutritional value than plant-derived proteins because they provide a complete and optimal amino acid profile, are naturally more digestible, and provide a better bioavailability. In Veterinary HPM, 90% of the proteins used are of animal origin.

All Veterinary HPM® recipes are formulated with a low carbohydrate and high protein balance, featuring 39% more protein on average (compared to food sold in European veterinary clinics in 2024) and 38% less carbohydrates to promote lean mass and prevent digestive issues.

You must introduce the new food gradually in 3 steps of 2 to 4 days each

  • Step 1: 25% new/75% current
  • Step 2: 50% new/50% current
  • Step 3: 75% new/25% current
  • Step 4: 100% Veterinary HPM), switching to the next step once digestive tolerance is normal.
