Senior Neutered Dog - Large & Medium

Senior Neutered Dog - Large & Medium

The oxidative processes responsible for ageing intensify in older dogs, affecting many systems. Neutering increases the risk of weight gain, and decreased activity levels predispose to muscle wastage and joint issues.

Nutrition for Carnivores

VETERINARY HPM® is a new generation of dog food designed to be closer to the nutritional needs of carnivores. This new and unique range is based on a low carbohydrate-high protein formula. So it is much lower in starch and carbohydrates, and much higher in animal protein. The result is nutrition that is perfectly adapted to your dog’s needs.

Skin & coat support

Protein is an essential component of the skin and hair, 95% of the latter being made up of protein! Up to one third of the daily protein intake is used for skin renewal and hair growth.

Body weight control

By promoting satiety and the development of lean body mass (including muscle) rather than fat, protein helps dogs and cats maintain a healthy weight. Fibre is added as well as L-carnitine to help limit fat storage.

High digestive tolerance

A diet too high in carbohydrate can be poorly tolerated and cause loose and odorant stools.
Low carbohydrate levels, highly digestible protein and the addition of functional ingredients (lactobacilli, bentonite, etc.) help to maintain good digestive tolerance.

Tartar control

Pentasodium triphosphate supplementation helps to limit tartar formation and contributes to good oral health.

Urinary health

By stimulating drinking and optimising urinary pH, protein helps to maintain good urinary health.
A functional ingredient, cynarin, is also added to help with urine concentration.

Renal function

Reduced phosphorus intake and phosphate binder chitosan help to maintain healthy kidney function.

Low allergen formulation

Our diets are formulated without maize, wheat, gluten, soya and egg, in order to lower the risk of food intolerances or allergies.

Joint and muscle support

High protein content, chondroitin and chitosan supplementation contribute to maintaining healthy muscles and joints.

Low glycaemic index

A diet rich in protein and low in carbohydrate helps to stabilise blood sugar and insulin levels, and ultimately helps to improve insulin sensitivity.

Immune support

The protein content and vitamin E, a natural antioxidant, help maintain a healthy immune system.

Frequently Asked Questions
  • How do I change my pet's diet to VETERINARY HPM®?

Any change in your pet's diet should not be taken lightly. It is essential to gradually introduce the new diet to the old diet, over a period of at least 7 days, which can be extended to 3 weeks for large breed dogs in particular.

It is therefore important not only to offer them food adapted to their needs but also to give them time to adapt gradually. Temporary digestive problems that may be observed during this transition phase are completely normal, as the animal's digestive system gets used to the new diet.

  • Where is VETERINARY HPM® produced?

    France picto.png

VETERINARY HPM® is produced in our own factory in France, more precisely in Vauvert, close to Nîmes. This site has been producing quality pet food since 1988, and thanks to a dedicated team of veterinary surgeons and pet nutritionists, we have been able to meet the very high expectations of pet owners in terms of food quality, traceability and safety for over 30 years.

  • How much should I feed my pet?

VETERINARY HPM® is very palatable, but we do advise that you respect the daily rations recommended by your vet or vet nurse. Our general feeding guidelines can be found on every bag, but your vet or vet nurse can provide you with a recommendation tailored specifically to your pet.

  • My pet is drinking more. Is this normal?

A dog should drink 50-70ml/kg of their bodyweight each day, whilst cats should consume 60ml/kg.

With VETERINARY HPM®, thanks to its higher amount of protein compared to other dry foods, your pet will naturally consume more water. So don't be surprised if they start drinking more water than usual - that's a good thing!
